We've Defended Clients With DUI Violations For Over 20 Years
A DUI in New York State is a serious criminal offense that should not be taken lightly. DUI penalties include potential jail time, loss of your driving privileges, and costly fines. If driving is necessary during your statutory summary suspension (SSS) period, an ignition interlock device will need to be purchased, installed and maintained.
Did you know a DUI conviction on your record is permanent? It never expires and any additional charges, no matter how far in the future, will be added to your record.
At Panetta & Aminov, P.C., we provide an aggressive defense for individuals in New York that were charged with a DUI violation. Our firm has over 20 years of experience defending clients with DUI violations. Let our team represent you during this stressful time. We understand your concerns and, unlike many lawyers, will always answer any questions clearly and completely.
Driving During Your License Suspension
In New York, a first time DUI offender may be given permission to drive during the SSS, but a Monitoring Device Driving Permit (MDDP) will need to obtained from the court. If the court grants a MDDP, they can then install a Breath Alcohol Ignition Interlock Device (BAIID).
The Breath Alcohol Ignition Interlock Device is like a Breathalyzer that you need to provide a breath sample every time you start your vehicle and while driving. It is important to understand that if you are issued a MDDP, but drive a vehicle without an interlock device, you face a potential felony charge.
Commercial Drivers License Violations
A DUI for drivers with a commercial driver’s license (CDL) can have catastrophic consequences. Loosing your professional driving privileges will end your career as a truck driver or delivery driver. Panetta & Aminov, P.C. understands the severity of DUI charges and will help defend your license and your livelihood.
